# Searching Your Financial Data

> Find transactions, accounts, insights, chats, settings, and charts from one search box on iOS.

<Note>**Global search is currently iOS only.** On the web, data discovery happens by navigating to specific pages and using each page's filters - see below.</Note>

## On iOS

Open search from the top bar on the **Home** tab. It's a single search box that looks across many entity types at once.

<Tip>Search moved into the top bar in Checkr Money iOS 1.9. Before 1.9 it had its own **Search** tab at the bottom of the screen.</Tip>

### What you can search for

* **Transactions** - by merchant name or category (e.g. "Uber", "groceries"), across your full transaction history
* **Accounts** - search by institution or account nickname
* **Insights** - search the title or summary of any insight
* **Recurring inflows / outflows** - search by name or category
* **Charts** - 16 pre-built visualizations across Spending, Income, Recurring, Cash Flow, and Accounts (see [Using the Chart Library](/search/using-the-chart-library))
* **Assistant chats** - past conversations with the assistant, by title
* **Settings** - settings screens by name
* **App sections** - typing "spending", "transactions", "accounts", "assistant" etc. jumps you to the corresponding feature

<Tip>Chats, settings, and full transaction history became searchable in Checkr Money iOS 1.10. Before 1.10, transaction search covered the last 30 days.</Tip>

### Searching just one list

The same search box on [Transactions](https://app.checkrmoney.com/data/transactions) and [Recurring](https://app.checkrmoney.com/data/recurring) searches only that list, so you can narrow what's in front of you without leaving the page. Open it from **Home** when you want to search everything.

### Recent items

When the search box is empty, it shows your **recent items** - whatever you tapped on most recently in past searches. **Clear** wipes the list.

## On the web

To find data on the web:

* **Transactions** - open the **Transactions** page and use the **Search merchant** field at the top, plus filters for category, account, date, and amount
* **Spending data** - the **Spending** page has its own filters by month and group-by (category / merchant)
* **Accounts** - the **Accounts** page lists every connected account with balance and net worth
* **Income data** - the **Income** page covers paychecks and income trends
* **Recurring data** - the **Recurring** page has subscription and bill information

<Tip>If you don't remember exactly what you're looking for on iOS, just start typing - search pulls in matches across every entity type so you can scan for the right one quickly.</Tip>
