# Using Checkr Money Offline

> What works on iOS when you don't have an internet connection.

<Note>Offline access is an iOS-only feature. The Checkr Money web app requires an active internet connection - if you're offline on the web, you'll see a connection error until your network is back.</Note>

When your iPhone loses internet, Checkr Money falls back to your most recently synced data so you can still see what's on your accounts.

## What works offline (iOS)

On screens where Checkr Money has previously loaded your data - Accounts, Transactions, Spending, Cash Flow, Income, Recurring, Feed, search, and **Banks, payroll & credit** - the app shows the last-synced version. Most of them also carry a banner at the top reminding you that you're offline, with a button to retry the refresh.

The cached data includes:

* Account balances
* Transaction history
* Spending breakdowns
* Recurring bills and income
* Your list of connections, with **Disconnect** unavailable until you're back online

Background sync pauses while you're offline.

<Tip>Checkr Money iOS 1.9 added offline states to Credit, Income, the Feed and search, and Checkr Money iOS 1.10 added them to Spending and to the Assistant tab, which now tells you you're offline before you try to send anything. Before 1.9 those screens gave no sign that you were offline.</Tip>

## What needs a connection (iOS)

Some screens need live data and won't work offline:

* **Credit** - your score and credit accounts are not cached
* **Assistant chat** - sending messages and receiving responses
* **Connecting a new account** - linking financial institutions
* **Refreshing data** - pulling the latest transactions and balances
* **Settings pages that talk to the server** - Assistant, Notification preferences, Membership and Feedback

On these screens, an offline notice with a **Try again** button appears until you're back online.

## When you're back online

Once your connection is restored, Checkr Money automatically resumes background sync. To force an immediate refresh, pull down anywhere on Accounts, Transactions, Income, or Recurring.
